Karin Satrom

From an early age, Karin always wanted to understand how things worked. (Help fix the vacuum cleaner? Sounds like fun!) She's always been artistic and at age 5, won a fire hydrant lamp for her work coloring in a fire truck. Design was the perfect way to combine these 2 interests.

As Creative Director of The O Group, Karin loves that her job is to develop well-planned strategies, come up with crazy ideas and lead our talented creative team. She makes sure that every project is just as smart in concept as it is in form.

Since graduating from Penn State University, Karin has worked for design agencies, magazines and in-house at Liz Claiborne. During her time in the publishing industry, she designed a magazine from the ground up. Karin was named an ADC Young Gun and her work has been featured in the Rebrand Showcase, Communication Arts, Graphis and Creative Quarterly. She is currently co-coordinator of the AIGA/NY mentoring program and is partnering with designers to create projects and opportunities for the talented Professional/Student pairs.

Beside her love of all things design, Karin loves all things Brooklyn, organic and culinary. She can be found reading the latest New Yorker or spending time with her husband, Bert, also a member of the creative industry (he makes TV magic) and their unbearably adorable black field spaniel, Max.
